6.9 ex 5.6.1.1 Family of George WHAITE and Anne (Fisher)

Although 1 Samuel John's wife Isabella was married 1887 as a Widow, there seems to be no record of his death in England either as Samuel John/John up to 1935, nor in any census record after 1871 when he was recorded as John Errand Boy 15 living Victoria St Manchester with John Gregson. As another Whaite researcher has suggested, it is quite possible, especially from his actions in his subsequent life in Australia, that Samuel John/John left Isabella and took up with Alice Blakeney of Wolverhampton. This may have been as early as February 1879, when it was suggested by Alice that she was married to a Whaite now calling himself John Harry/Harry at Wolverhampton though no record exists. Fuller details are under "Just Who was Harry Whaite" in Family History to be posted on the Web.

In this family tree, details of Samuel John and Isabella are under 1a and those of Harry and Alice under 1b.
